Free Pattern - Pretty One-Skein Scarf

Several have asked for the pattern I used for the scarves I've posted about recently, so I paused to write it down as I started working on the latest edition. Took me all of two minutes!

Here are photos of the finished lime green one I posted earlier as I was working on it, and the scarf in grape that I just started.

I have a photo of the first one I completed in a tan color in an earlier blog entry here.

I hope you enjoy this free scarf pattern. You may sell items made from this pattern, but please don't sell the pattern, or post it elsewhere without linking directly to this blog post or the pattern article itself.

The purple scarf will be listed in my Etsy shop when finished.

  6. My daughter (19 and NOT a crocheter) is home for school break and looking for an easy but cool scarf to keep her busy. We happened upon yours and she LOVES it!

Now she's out of my hair and creating something so THANK YOU!The knots on the bottom are what sold me, I think it's super cool.
    Thanks so much for sharing.

    Happy New Year,

  7. I just wanted to tell you that this is an amazing scarf pattern - very easy to remember, quick and what this is especially great is it keeps excellent form (no large to small and major blocking needed) AND you really know pretty clearly when you have made a mistake...like you can't get too many rows to see a mistake...

    Seriously, thank you and cheers.

  9. Just wanted to let you know that I made a very easy variation on this scarf. Instead of working the (2DC, ch 1, 2DC) in the spaces, I worked it between the (2DC, ch 1, 2DC)s of the lower row. It ends up almost with a checkerboard look--the pattern is offset. I had to use half-motifs (3 DC) at the end of every other row, but otherwise it worked out very nicely. Thanks for the inspiration!

  10. Joanna, I tried to leave a comment for you at your blog, but I can't get to it.

Your variation sounds lovely. Do you have a picture you could share?
