Another Wednesday, another crochet WIP for a veteran at my local VA hospital.
I'm almost finished with the crochet granny square afghan that I've posted about several times, so I won't bore you with more photos of that until it's finished.
I haven't made a ripple in quite some time so decided that would be the next project. A ripple afghan works up quickly and I'm trying to get a few afghans finished to bring out to the veterans on the ward to brighten up their beds.
I'm making this ripple afghan in Red Heart colors of Windsor Blue, Aran and Black. I figured out the size I'd need and then counted how many rows per inch and figured how many pattern rows of each color to do. I want to start and end with the same color and the only way I could get the size to work is six rows of the blue and black, with four rows of aran in between each.
I'm not sure I like the look so I may have to recalculate and come up with something else. I'm never satisfied!
Maybe I'll try just two rows of the aran in between the wider rows of the darker colors. No doubt you'll see what I decided on next week's WIP Wednesday!

I think 2 rows of the cream color would look wonderful and give more variety to the pattern! I have a ripple throw I started last fall myself that I'm trying to decide how much I want to rip out to create a different, more stimulating to my eye pattern! Gotta finish my Granny Square blanket first though :-) Look forward to more pictures on your progress.
