Granny Square Pattern WIP

I love how you can make even a simple granny square look good by using different color combinations, but even I'm getting tired of the same basic square. I wanted to try something a little different, yet still simple enough to do without having to mark your rounds or lose your place.

I played with it this weekend and wrote up this easy 7" granny square pattern. I'll share the completed free pattern once it's tested.    Here's the link :  Simple 7" Granny Square Pattern. You can find all of my patterns by clicking on the tab at the top of the page that says Crochet Patterns.

My simple 7 inch granny square in
two different color combinations

Here it is in purple and lavender.  I like the way it
looks with white and two shades of same color.

To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. You can play along even if it’s not Wednesday; I leave each WIP up until the following week. Copy the code below Rosie's picture and paste it into your blog post so that others can follow too, and see the rest of the projects that are posted here.

  1. Your squares look really pretty :) Love the different color combos you did. I like making granny squares... I just don't like sewing them all together. LOL

  2. I'm in for the week. I will check in later today to see what all has been added and check them out.
Looks like you have the pattern down on the granny square, but if you want to send me the pattern to try making one, I sure will.

  3. I really like that square. I personally prefer the first two, because I like more than one color, but the purples are nice, too.

  4. Marie Anne, I have finally fixed my linky thing, so if you like, you can delete the first one. Sorry about that, and thanks for the heads-up.
