Test Pattern for Round Ripple

This week I'm working on testing a crochet pattern for a baby or toddler sized round ripple.  So far the pattern seems easy enough, but for some reason my 'points' aren't coming out nearly as pointy as the pattern creator shows in her picture.  Mine are more rounded. Not sure why that is, and I may have to start another one to see if I can figure out if I've done something wrong.

Here's what I've got done so far, just 8 rows I believe.

I'm using Red Heart yarns in white, lavender, honeydew, and cornmeal.  You've seen me work with those colors before and they've become a favorite combination, so I hope it looks good with this round ripple too.

When we finish testing and she has the pattern listed, I'll be sharing the link, so stay tuned!

To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. You can play along even if it’s not Wednesday; I leave each WIP up until the following week. Copy the code below Rosie's picture and paste it into your blog post so that others can follow too, and see the rest of the projects that are posted here.

  1. You may not be putting as many stitches in the "point" as you should. I've made a round ripple before several times and they are always pointy. This is pretty though - looks more like a flower!

  2. Love the colors and I'm thinking I like the rounded edge better then I would points. The only thought I have it that it may get more pointed as you work? Great color combination as is. I might leave out the cornmeal.

  4. It looks pretty. I don't do well attempting to make my own patterns.

  5. I like it. I could see where my grandaughter would love that pattern. She is very into flowers and the colors you are using. With the points it would look more like a star, I like the "hippy-ish" flower look yours has.

  6. It looks like a retro 'hippy'-flower. I know it wasn't want you meant to happen, but at least it looks nice! :) Love the color choice.
