Old and New Easy Crochet Projects

I was chatting with a friend last night and she reminded me of a baby blanket that I had sent her when her daughter was born - almost four years ago. I didn't have pictures on this computer, so she graciously shared them with me. I can't believe it was that long ago, but what a sweet memory, seeing her precious baby girl all snuggled up in something that I made.

I'm almost finished with another scarf that I'm making for a friend to match her favorite lime green crocs.

I still have a little to do and then the finishing so these pictures show it with all the tails, etc, but you get the idea.

This has quickly become a favorite pattern, and it's one I basically put together myself after seeing a stitch I liked that was easy, yet very pretty.

Next project on the list is something for ME!

I want something I can throw over my shoulders here at the house, and also for when I'm driving. I hate wearing a coat while driving, yet still need some sort of covering while the car is warming up. A friend at C'ville shared a pattern that she liked and I started one immediately. Here's what I've done so far and yes, I will be modifying the pattern to make it longer, as she did hers.

(Again, excuse the 'tails' and all that - it's still a work in progress)

The color isn't true in the pictures, but it is a very pretty light denim color with Red Heart 'Spa Blue', paired with Coffee, and I think it's a nice combination. I know I will get a lot of use out of this wearable, and this pattern.

  4. I hope you're able to get something made for yourself. I find that is very difficult to do. Seems like when I'm ready to make something for myself the yarn I've bought for the "me" project has already been used for something else. Anyway, I really love the colors in the baby blanket. It is bright and cheerful and very pretty.
