Scrap Granny Square Afghan for a Veteran - WIP Wednesday

Time for WIP Wednesday and this week I'm still working on the scrap granny square afghan for a veteran at my local VA hospital. Please read to the end of this post and play along too!

I only have one more row of 9 blocks attached since the last picture, but I've got at least another row or two worth of granny squares finished that I'll be joining in the next few days.

I really like how this is turning out and will definitely crochet more of them, using different colors and maybe look at some quilt patterns for inspiration on how to place the squares.

To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. Copy the code below Rosie's picture and paste it into your blog post so that others can follow too, and see the rest of the projects that are posted here.

Make sure to click 'You are next' below to add your name so others can follow it to your blog post.

** Note ** Several of you are signing up at the bottom but you’re not putting the WIP Wednesday link on your own blog. If you don’t, your readers won’t be lead back here to see what others are doing and hear what WIP Wednesday is all about. It’s not hard, just copy the code beneath the photo above and paste it into your blog post. If you’re having trouble, please let me know and I’ll try to walk you through it.

  2. I read this every Wed. and can't get my act together to post pictures! (Sad coming from a photographer.) But I love it! I just bought a book called "Beyond the square: Crochet Motifs" and I love it! I wish they had gauge and sizes, but I just LOVE the patterns. It's inspiring me to do more than just test them all out! LOL!

  3. Very nice! You may want to get graph paper and some color pencils and make a graph of different color squares you might have and see how you want to put them together. I did that for a granny square afghan I made and it turned out nice if I may brag a bit lol!

  4. What a beautiful afghan for the VA. I've make wheelchair tote bags for our local VA hospital and found it to be such a wonderful place to give our crocheted items.
