Still More Baby Round Ripples

I finished the round ripple I posted about last week and yep, I've started yet another.  I'm enjoying coming up with different color combinations and seeing the effect of how they work in the round rather than just stripes back and forth.

Here's the RR from last week.  I think it turned out ok, but not sure I like the lighter color for the border.  Finishing off with the light sage would have left it too small, but adding another whole series of colors would have been much too big, so I guess I'll leave it as is.

This weeks WIP project is the same pattern in red, white and blue.  I'm going to make the remaining red and blue rounds wider and I wish I had added at least one more round to those I've already done.  Maybe I'll make this round ripple a larger afghan size rather than just baby or lap blanket/lapghan.  When I start a project, I rarely have a set plan in my head for the finished project and just see where it goes, and this piece is no different.

What're you up to this week?  Have you started on winter or Christmas gift projects yet?

To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. You can play along even if it’s not Wednesday; I leave each WIP up until the following week. Copy the code below Rosie's picture and paste it into your blog post so that others can follow too, and see the rest of the projects that are posted here.

  4. oooh, very nice! That's a great idea for the RW&B RR, it's going to look great, and gives me some wonderful ideas for the starghan I've been planning! Great work indeed:)

  6. It might be pretty to just do a single row of the raspberry to finish off last week's RR - or maybe 2 rows depending on how one looks...

  7. Those would make awesome rugs, too, Marie - if ya used heavier weight yarn or double-stranded. Really pretty.
