Change of Plans

I'd been working on scarves for the last week or two and finished another and published the pattern yesterday, and was going to try to figure out a hat to match.  Well that didn't go so well.  I started the crown like I've done other hats then switched to the stitch I used in the scarf, but something didn't work out and it ended up getting smaller.  I'm not sure if I can adjust the stitching to make it work out or not and it was beginning to frustrate me after several attempts, so I put it down for a bit and moved on.

What I moved on to was a baby blanket with the same stitch.  I actually started this last week and put it aside to finish the scarf, so before starting another project, I figured I'd get as much done on the blanket as I could before I ran out of the light blue yarn.

I sure hope I can find the same color yarn and the dye lot doesn't change much because it really shows with a solid blanket if the new skein doesn't match perfectly.

What I've dubbed the Accidental Stitch works up very quickly and makes for a nice piece with just a little bit of texture without being too bumpy or rough.  As soon as I have the stitches and dimensions worked out for the blanket, I'll write it and publish the free pattern for that too.

Are you working on Christmas gifts yet?

To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. You can play along even if it’s not Wednesday; I leave each WIP up until the following week. Copy the code below Rosie's picture and paste it into your blog post so that others can follow too, and see the rest of the projects that are posted here.

Make sure to click 'You are next' below to add your link here so my readers can follow it to your blog post.

** Note ** Several of you are signing up at the bottom but you’re not putting the WIP Wednesday link on your own blog. If you don’t, your readers won’t be led back here to see what others are doing and what WIP Wednesday is all about. It’s not hard, just copy the code beneath the photo above and paste it into your blog post. If you’re having trouble, please let me know and I’ll try to walk you through it.

pretty blue blankie! isn't Red Heart no dye lot these days? I thought at least the solids are...but I could be wrong!!

Trying my best to get started on Christmas gifts - keep reminding myself that it's really not too far away anymore!

I love that blue in the baby blankie, Marie Anne. Actually, RH yarn SS doesn't do dye lots (so the color is the same always) so hopefully you'll get the same color when you go back for more. Oh, I see the lady above said the same thing :) Are you on Ravelry? I'd like to friend ya there if you are.
