Starting a Major WIP

This week's WIP for me isn't a crochet project worked with hook and yarn, but something of a much larger magnitude - renovating a bedroom to turn into my home office and craft room!

Last year I painted the smaller bedroom that I have my yarn stash and supplies in now and it's come a long way, but I've decided to move my office into the larger of the spare bedrooms and will also move my craft stuff over to that room when finished.  Since I sell some things on Etsy and also earn from publishing my patterns, it shouldn't violate the home office rule, and I'll still be able to deduct the space come time to file taxes.

Here's the bins with my stash and some FOs (finished objects) right now:

And here's the ugly room that's getting a makeover:

First up will be the windows and they're coming to measure and discuss my options on Wednesday.  I'm going to paint after the windows are done so I won't have to do any touching up from their installation, then I'll rip up and replace the carpet.

A buddy and I will probably do everything but the windows ourselves, but we'll see how that goes as things progress.

What's on your WIP list this week?

To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. You can play along even if it’s not Wednesday; I leave each WIP up until the following week. Copy the code below Rosie's picture and paste it into your blog post so that others can follow too, and see the rest of the projects that are posted here.

Make sure to click 'You are next' below to add your link here so my readers can follow it to your blog post.
Several of you are signing up at the bottom but you’re not putting the WIP Wednesday link on your own blog. If you don’t, your readers won’t be led back here to see what others are doing and what WIP Wednesday is all about. It’s not hard, just copy the code beneath the photo above and paste it into your blog post. If you’re having trouble, please let me know and I’ll try to walk you through it.

  1. Your room looks great. I want the cubby storage units. I have to figure out just how to afford them.
I had to play catch up a bit in my post because I didn't get one in last week.

  2. oooh, all that potential!! I just went through the "small business" thing with my craft room/office too... by booky said it wasn't a problem because I had enough square footage :) So nice you'll have someone to work with you!

  3. By the way, I never have been able to get that image code to work for me, so I fiddled it to make a sidebar link, and then just make a text link in each of my posts that I link up here. Is that okay? Or do you have some technical finagling I can do to get it to work in the post itself? Thanks so much for hosting!!!
