Crochet Edging on Fabric

(Photo by Elaine with Gray Cats)
Have you ever crocheted a lacy trim onto fabric?  I'm not a big fan of it on clothing (nothing wrong with it, it's just not my style ... can't picture it on sweatpants and a hoodie, ya know?), but think it's very pretty when done on sheets and pillowcase, and even hand towels.

After seeing how expensive designer linens can be, I thought I might give it a try.  The organic bedding company that I mentioned in an article this morning charges big bucks for lacy trim that looks like crochet, but they cheated by using a machine.

I think a delicate edging on any type of linens would be a neat gift for a wedding shower.  I wonder if towels and pillowcases would sell well at a craft sale?  I have one coming up next month, so maybe I'll test a pillowcase or two and see what happens.  Link to lots of free crochet edges and trims in the article too.

  1. I'll bet lace-trimmed hand towels and pillow cases would really sell well.
