WIP Wednesday - Scrap Granny Square Afghan

To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. Copy the code below Rosie's picture and paste it into your blog post so that others can follow too, and see the rest of the projects that are posted here.

Make sure to click 'You are next' below to add your name so others can follow it to your blog post.

** Note ** Several of you are signing up at the bottom but you’re not putting the WIP Wednesday link on your own blog. If you don’t, your post really has no meaning because your readers won’t be lead back here to see what others are doing and hear what WIP Wednesday is all about. It’s not hard, just copy the code beneath the photo above and paste it into your blog post. If you’re having trouble, please let me know and I’ll try to walk you through it.

WIP Wednesday for me this week is more granny squares, but this time they're for a scrap afghan. Now that I've figured out how to crochet a basic granny square and found a nice way to join them, no scrap of yarn is safe from me!

Like most who crochet, I end up with bits and pieces and partial skeins of yarn in bags and boxes all over the house. I finally pulled them out so I could put them to good use and started making squares with a single color around a black center, joined in black using the flat-braid join method.

I wish I could get a good photo of the flat-braid join because it really is much prettier than it shows here.

  1. I really like the contrast of the colors with the black inside and out. I haven't gotten any farther on my WIP (I'm trying to figure out a part of the pattern).

  6. I love how the black makes the other colors so vibrant! The black in the center also makes the squares have such a different look. I really like this!
