Simple Stitch = Many Scarves, Many Looks (FPF)

If you know me at all, you know that my favorite simple stitch is working a single crochet and double crochet into one stitch.  I use it for many things, and I've written up the simple instructions on how to make a scarf with several different looks.  Since many of you are likely making scarf and hat combos at this time of year, I thought it appropriate to share for FPF (Free Pattern Friday).  You can find the free pattern instructions for the various scarves here (which has a link to the hat pattern at the end too).

I posted the other day when I made the swatches with the pink camo yarn for an online friend, and I finished the second last night and put them in the mail this morning.  Her daughter is named Cami and she loves pink camouflage, so this was just the thing for her (and of course little sister would want one too, so we accommodated her as well).

I think there's another photo or two of the finished pink camo scarf duo in my Etsy Shop.

Enjoy!

  1. They are beautiful! I love that stitch combination as well. Just gives it a slightly fancy kind of look to something that would otherwise be a bit plain. :)

  2. I tried your pattern just last week and I am half-way through a scarf using it. It is a great stitch sequence and I will definitely show you the results when it's finished! Thanks for the great pattern.

  3. Oh my goodness! This stitch makes my favorite washcloth, so why wouldn't it make a wonderful scarf! I think I'm gonna start one tonight.
