This week I've been working on dishcloths. I haven't made any in a while and needed to get rid of some of my stash of cotton yarn, so I plowed through it and grabbed some smaller amounts to use up first. I mentioned on facebook what I was doing, and a couple of friends decided they needed new dishcloths, so that resulted in a couple of orders to fill.
I finished one order and partially completed another, and listed a couple of sets on Etsy. I did have to buy more cotton yarn to do some of these orders, so there goes my idea of getting rid of some stash. When these orders are done, I plan to get back to that plan, though. We'll see how that works out for me.
Since these are great as washcloths too, I think I'm going to list a set of red/white/green cloths and advertise that they'd be nice rolled up in a basket with handmade soap in a guest bathroom for the holidays.
I enjoy making these dishcloths because it's pretty mindless work for me. It's my own simple pattern and I've made so many of them, I can practically work them up with my eyes closed.
