Pets Need Blankies Too

An online friend bought this afghan from me a week or so ago and she told me she loves it.

Apparently someone else does too.

I was working on this scrap blanket that wasn't going to be good for much of anything, so I offered to finish it to send to Emily's cat, Edward, in hopes that he would adopt it for his own.

We'll see how that works out.  In the meantime, I had planned on finishing the last row of trim around this afghan this morning (another that's been sitting in my closet forever, but will now cover my new futon in my craft room), but you can see that someone else decided she likes it just fine the way it is.

Phoebe thinks it's the perfect place for a good chew ...

and a nap

Two minutes later, all three girls were up there. (Jethro decided to settle for the recliner).   I had to move back to get the big girls in the shot, so you can hardly see little Phoebe in the left corner (click to see larger photo).

It doesn't matter how many blankets the dogs have, they all seem to want whatever it is I'm working on.  I have a sneaky suspicion that I'm not the only one who has that problem.

  2. I can't do all the fancy work you do, but I can knit a little. When we brought our furry baby home, I knitted her a little blanket. She's far to big for it now, but it holds a lot of memories for me. I need to make her bigger one because she loves blankets and pillows.

  3. Oh, yeah, drives me batty! I just want one blanket sans all the cat hair. Is that too much to ask? Apparently yes!

  4. My chihuahuas leave fur "love tokens" on everything I work on. All crochet gifts from me are washed before going to their new homes! Your projects are great too!

  5. I don't think you could fit anymore cuteness into this post!! So amazing how animals can steal the creature comforts from our lives for themselves!! LOL
