Soap Saver/Soap Sack Prototype

I'd often thought about crocheting soap savers or soap sacks, but never got a round tuit.  A friend asked me recently if I made them and I said no, but I'm sure I can, so I decided to give it a try.

After a few adjustments for size, this is what I came up with this morning. Whatdya think?

I'm going to use this one myself to see how I like it, if it stretches out too much, etc.  If it works out ok, I'll make up a mess of them to list on Etsy.  It's a great way to use up smaller bits of cotton yarn that aren't enough for a dishcloth.

  1. Clever and a great way to make money by using up that extra yarn.

  3. Omigosh, it looks almost exactly like the one I made for myself. I really do like it even if it does stretch out a bit, but no worries. It does the trick of saving tiny bits of soap from becoming useless goopy stuff.

  4. What did you decide about your soap bags? Oophs I mean soap sacks.

Slight possibility I'll make a trek to Chillitown next week, (schedule is pending still); if so you available to meet up for lunch or something one day?

Might be bringing Flat Stanley with me.

Love to check out his new blog, thought too you might have a story or pictures to share.

  5. I have made a few. I use a organic soap that is bigger so I thought I would make mine longer. It stretched to twice it's size lol. Think I may make myself a new one that isn't so long :)
