Finish WIPs or Start New Projects? Decisions, Decisions

I'm pretty much laid up now with a bum knee, and since the weather is turning colder, it's the perfect time to break out hooks and yarn and keep my fingers occupied.  I do have one custom afghan that's almost finished, and one baby blanket that won't take long to complete, but my problem is I want to start something new.

My first grandbaby is due in November, and of course there are several things I'd like to make for her.  This one blanket WIP will likely be for her, but I bought more yarn to make another, and might do a couple of hats, and perhaps attempt a sweater (something I'm no good at) or a cocoon (or whatever you call those things).

I need someone to tell me to finish these other two projects first, or I'll probably never get them done.  I know I'm not the only one who has many ongoing projects with several more in mind, but I need to quit that.  I've got all sorts of yarn here to use up, but no combinations that worked well for project for new granddaughter (who will be named Catie Alice - love it!), so bought more this morning.  It's jumping out of the bag, telling me it wants to be next, but I'm trying to stick to my guns on this one.

Baby's First Yarn

I've never worked with Lion Brand's Baby First before, so not sure what it will be best for.  It says it's #5/bulky, but doesn't seem any thicker/heavier than the regular worsted weight I'm used to, but it's nice and soft and I liked the colors, so we'll see.  The colors I chose are Twinkle Toes (light rose), Pixie Dust (sort of a cream color), Cotton Ball (white) and Beanstalk (light green).  Let's see what that smorgasbord works up to.

Ok, to make good on my goal, I'm going to head to the couch right now, see what's on TV, and try to get the other afghan finished tonight.  Yea, right.  I'll let you know how that works out.

  4. Alternate, 1 wip with 1 new project. Sorry you've got a bum knee. The colder weather seems to bring out the aches and pains. Congrats on becoming a grandma!
